Harrington OK after having melanomas removed

February 5 2009

Padraig Harrington informed that he recently had two benign melanomas removed near his right eye.

Impact: If Harrington has a bandage over the incisions, you'll know why. Meanwhile, he's leaning towards skipping next month's WGC-CA Championship. "I'm unlikely to play Doral," Harrington said. "I'm not fully committed [to skipping it] at the moment, but it looks like I'll take a three-week break there and go home and work on things. Usually I peak in my third week, so I look to put the majors the third week." It's a formula that's worked like a charm the last couple of years.
