Goydos returns to so-so play at the Buick

Paul Goydos carded an even-par 72 in the opening round of the Buick Invitational.
Impact: In his first competition since the passing of his ex-wife, Goydos hit just nine GIR and still needed 27 putts at the South Course at Torrey Pines. Although it will be wetter and windier, he'll play the much easier North Course on Friday. The moral victory, of course, is that he's easing into his routine.
